I remember asking my relatives in Italy if they were excited about the Torino Games in 2006, and I was struck by a comment my one cousin had: “Honestly I’m just sick of all the ads and posters. I just wish they’d start already.”
I remember thinking tha he was insane not to be excited, but then he said, “Aren’t the next Games in Canada somewhere? Just wait, you’ll know exactly what I mean soon.” Again I thought he was on crack, but you know what? You know what happened 4 years later? I’M SICK OF THE OLYMPIC ADS!
Right now I just want them all to stop. I want CTV to stop asking me if I believe, I want Bell to stop trying to sell me HDTV and I want to stop seeing those annoying CTV kids screaming about how “Canada wins the Games!”
But of course I say this now, but in less than a month I’ll be actually AT the Games, watching athletes curl, shoot the pick, skate fast aroung the rink and fly high into the air. Now THAT will be exciting.

I think I’m not sick of the ads because I’m normally on the PVR and fast forwarding through all the commercials. But, I definitely do hear my fair share of ‘believe’. I’m still super excited and really need to get to Zellers to overload on my olympic gear
