Feelin’ Blah Fridays

2009

Today is just one of those days where I’m feeling blah, mostly because it’s been raining since early this morning, and the weatherman is calling for more rain pretty much all weekend. Blah.

I’m also feeling a bit blah because I’m waiting through the “we’re just checking your references” portion of a job offer, which is always stressful. It’s a really good job that I’m excited about, but I won’t tell you more until I hear back from them. Going through all the bureaucracy sure is funny, as people do only the bare minimum their job requires, and nothing more. Makes me laugh. But keep all your appendages crossed for me, just in case.

I’m also busy applying to freelance writing jobs left and right, having fun doing that. I’ve actually managed to snag two blogging jobs that I’m excited about. One will net me about $40 a month as I do a weekly post for a personal finance blog, and then the other one depends on how many people click the Google ads on my sports blog posts. Of course I can’t ask anyone to click the ads for me, because Google can check that out, but if you’d like to read what I have to say, feel free to click on over to my Habs blog. There’s only a few articles up there so far, but if you keep checking, you’ll see more of them.

I’m also busy finishing off two knitting projects: the cursed Italian blanket and J’s shawl. The Italian blanket is now officially cursed, as I keep running out of yarn for it. My seester & I thought we’d calculated the right amount, but apparently we didn’t. Or else I just miscalculated when I was knitting. Who knows. At any rate, the blanket’s almost done, which I’m happy about. The first one took almost 10 months to knit up, while this one took me only 3 months (so far), so that’s cool. Stay tuned for pictures of it later on once it’s finished.

Okay, that’s about it from my end. Have a good weekend y’all!

Just catching up on what you’re up to. Boy have we missed a lot and not just because we were away for an extended time. I’ve been knitting (and crocheting) up a storm and thinking about you and your Italian blankets. That trip must be coming up soon. Take care and keep in touch.
