Finding Canada in the Past

While enjoying my first full day of unemployment today, I flipped the tv on over to the Game Show Network, otherwise known as GSN. I’m a huge fan of game shows, and am highly upset that there aren’t as many on tv anymore like there used to be when I was a kid. That was one of the best things about being a sick kid, watching the game shows! Shows like Sale of the Century, Tic Tac Dough, Pitfall, Bullseye, Joker’s Wild…you realize I can go on here, right?

So today while flipping I caught an old episode of Card Sharks, one of my favourites. I don’t actually like the regular game part, but like the Big Money Cards, as the final round is called. At any rate, today the champion is a guy from Halifax! Now this particular episode is probably from 1983 or 4, but still, I found it interesting that even back then there was a contestant from Canada on the show. He won the first game against the defending champion, and is currently playing his second game. He won a lot of money on the Big Money Cards, which was fun to see. Almost $4000! That’s nothing to sneeze at for sure. It probably paid for his trip to California! haha.
